Swiming Pool Chlorine Gererator's

If you're considering a salt system chlorine generator for your swiming pool I'd regemend you re-consider. This is a popular item for swiming pool contractors to sell to people who are having new pools installed. If you're paying or plan on paying for a professional pool cleaning service to clean and service your pool on a regular basis then don't bother with a chlorine generator system, it will save you no money at all on your monthly pool service cleaning bill. I've had very poor luck with the Gold Line brand of chlorine gererator systems. Over the six years I've owned the system I've had to spend several thousand dollars on repairs and mainternce to the system. The "turbo" cell on mine just went out again (this is the fouth time in six years this has happend), since this part (which is the most expensive part of the system) only has a one year warranty, the gepany won't replace the turbo cell even though it's only 15 monhs old. Rather than continue to throw good money after bad I'm tearing the system out and replacing it with a simple in line chlorine "tablet" type of system, one that I or the pool service can simply open up and stick a new tablet in once a week or as needed.
I realize that some people swear by these systems, if you do decide to get one just stay away from anything manufactured by Gold Line. Even the gepany that handles their warranty service locally has told me that they get 10 times more trouble calls on this manufactures products gepared to the other manufactures that they service.
