DSR'S. Ebay underestimates the Tanya Hardings of the world

... and provides them with the lead pipe! IMO the new way to look at DSR's is the RIGHT way to look at them. No longer will POSITIVE comments from SATISIFIED customers be used NEGATIVELY against sellers. That is a good thing. I think judging sellers by buyers leaving 1's and 2's is the right thing to do... HOWEVER .... and this is a BIG HOWEVER... Ebay needs checks and balances in place to assure the marketplace that this system is not abused by malicious folks looking to advance their own agendas by disadvantaging their competition. Right now I think that transparancy is the best solution to this problem. It's time to bring DSR out of the cover of darkness, out of secrecy and into the light. Darkness and secrecy is not the place where honesty dwells but rather dishonesty. We can not have bad sellers muddying the waters and ruining ebay for all of us, but by the same token we can't have a system in place that condemns and executes a good sellers based on accusations made in secret. One year ago I challanged ebay with the words: "Why are positive comments from satisfied customers used negatively against sellers?" I asked them to write that question on every wall at headquarters and discuss it amongst themselves. They did. And today that policy is changing. Today I ask a new question... "What can we do to DSR's that will maintain the intent of the program but at the same time protect it from abuse and misuse" The fact that there are Tanya Hardings in the world is a sad reality. Ebay must face that reality and protect it's marketplace and it's sellers against such attackers. I say shine the light on DSR... remove the secrecy...
