Please Explain Feedback!

Maybe I am missing how feedback works. Can someone please explain it to me. We have only been selling for about 3 months and all of the sudden this month we have received 3 negatives. Up until now we had not received any. We sell customer returns Xbox 360's. Those that are used but seem to work we sell them that way. Ones that need to be refurbished we do. One neg. was due to damage during shipping. Another one because she expected stuff that was never in a listing and said it smelled like smoke. And the last one because it broke in a week. We offer warranty and will exchange and have offered exchange.But the weird thing is the neg. feedback is left by people who only have a few feedback themselves. Why is that? And the star things. Just an example. How can people leave me 1s on shipping when it was free? I just don't understand and some advise on how to eliminate these problems would be great!
