The Truth About Hot Coffee: 1. McDonalds had received several warnings from health departments about the temperature being against regulations. 2. McDonalds knew people who bought at the drive-up window would drink coffee while driving. 3. Spills were foreseeable. 3. McDonalds used lids that would not stay on so could not protect customers from spills. 4. The hot coffee was SO HOT that it caused 3d DEGREE BURNS -- you know where. (The coffee spilled in the lady's lap). OUCH! 5. The court ordered McDonald's to pay the profits from one day's sales of hot coffee. Not earnings for one day -- PROFITS for one day.
